Home Remedy for Bad Breath

No one wants bad breath but to get rid of it for good you should understand what’s causing it in the first place.  If you already know that it is not smoking or food, like garlic, cheese or coffee that is causing the unpleasant odor, then it’s probably bacteria.

Home Remedy for Bad Breath

Bacteria just love to grow in warm, damp environments like your mouth.  Saliva plays a very active role in your mouth’s fight against bacteria so you should keep it flowing.  Saliva naturally has antibacterial properties, so a dry mouth is very vulnerable to overgrowth of bacteria.

By this logic, eating foods that have antibacterial properties are good for your mouth too.  Honey is one food with these properties and coconut oil is another.

Making drinks using these or rubbing some on your gums throughout the day can lessen your bad breath remarkably. The other thing to remember is that bacteria grows very quickly under the gum line so it’s best to do all that you can to keep your gums healthy, tight and clean.  This means flossing of course and if you’re having breath problems it’s most likely due to poor flossing methods or tools.

Flossing doesn’t have to be a chore.  There are many inventions that have made flossing a piece of cake.  The Sulca brush works wonders on plaque and is just as effective as floss.  If you hate traditional flossing why not try brushing with the Sulca Brush after your normal dental routine.  Tooth and Gums Tonicis a great companion to the Sulca brush and does more than its share of fighting odor causing bacteria.  Keep a bottle of Restore on you and swish after meals.  This will greatly reduce and bad breath you may notice and, aside from it being all natural, it doesn’t alter the way your mouth tastes either so popping in a piece of sugarless gum won’t taste so strange.
