Xlear Xylitol Nose Spray: The Secret to Managing Nasal Drip and Improving Oral Health

Xlear nose spray for post nasal drip

What's up guys? It's Carrie with OralHealthCoaching.com and carrieibbetson.com. For those of you who don't know who I am, I'm a dental hygienist by trade, an oral health coach by passion, and I make online videos that help you get better results.

The Importance of Nasal Breathing

I want to talk about the importance of nasal breathing. I talk a lot about PH control and biofilm management in the mouth as far as cavities are concerned and keeping a healthy mouth. One thing that's really important about having a healthy mouth is where your oxygen comes into your body from.

For a lot of people, it comes in through our mouth, and it can happen at really benign times like if you're running or if you're talking. Right now when I take a breath I'm mouth breathing. A lot of people think that ... is the mouth-breathing stance, but unless you're really paying attention to where your oxygen is coming from, it can be coming into your mouth and not in your nose.

It's really important for oral health and for total overall health that your oxygen come through your nose. But that can be difficult, especially if you're not used to nasal breathing. You can easily have a lot of congestion and just like any muscle, the muscles in our noses if we're not using them consistently, they can atrophy and they can swell and can get inflamed, and they cannot do a really good job at filtering. So something like a nasal spray can really help.

Xlear Nasal Spray

A lot of people would use a saline nose spray and that's phenomenal, but the saline doesn't really do much to the bacteria and it doesn't do much to shrink the tissues if you have inflammation from the inside. That's why I really like Xlear Nasal Spray. It is purified water, saline, all the things that you're used to, but it also contains Xylitol which helps to stop adhesion, but what does that mean?

The bacteria in our nose, when it starts to congeal together, when it starts to build up on one another, gets really sticky, and then all of a sudden you might feel that drop into the back of your throat. And then you have that kind of choke. That thing is called a post-nasal drip. So if you can keep the bacteria really thin, it helps to stop that from happening, and that's one of the really cool things that Xylitol does.

Also, if you have inflammation in your nose, when your nasal passages are normal and not inflamed, there's a lot of space in there. But as inflammation happens in our nose, that space gets smaller. One of the really cool things that Xylitol does is it creates osmosis, so it shrinks that tissue from the inside so it opens things back up. So it helps to wash out all of the dust and the pollen and all of the things that you don't want in your nose, and think about it. We wash everything else, but how often do we wash our noses?

Use a Xylitol Nose Spray Twice a Day

If oral health is something that you're really trying to get ahold of, if cavities are something that you're trying to work through if gum disease is a problem for you, you want to make sure that you're using a Xylitol nose spray twice a day. And it's super easy to use.

It comes in a couple of different bottles. You can either get the metered dose which is what this one looks like, or it will come in a spray bottle. You can use this at any age, and the only thing that's in there again is Xylitol, saline, grapefruit seed extract as a preservative, and purified water. If it's with a baby, on the Kid's Xlear bottle you'll find the instructions for use in the back. You're actually just going to put a drop. But with anyone else, you just want to get it in your nose, give it a spray, and then breathe in at the same time.

So Xlear Nasal Spray is a great product to use. I hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think. If you have questions, I've got answers. Leave them in the Comment section below. Let me know what the nose spray does for you, and let me know what I can do for you.
