These at-home tests use a small saliva sample to analyze your unique oral microbiome and measure both good and bad bacteria. How Much Does At-Home Testing Cost?
Bristle Health offers tests at $149 per test - or a subscription-based model so you can receive four tests spaced throughout the year for as little as $99. Bristle Health tests are even HSA/FSA eligible! This means you can track your progress and keep a watchful eye on any concerns that might be present. It’s also a great way to track your family’s oral health without expensive and time-consuming trips to the dentist, that often don’t include any type of bacteria testing.
Your fees also include a single coaching call with Bristle Health’s team of oral health coaches to discuss your results and your next steps. You’ll get personalized diet, product, and hygiene recommendations to implement along the way.
What Do My At-Home Test Results Tell Me?
Your testing results will give you insight into your oral health at every level – in an easy-to-understand report complete with the support of an Bristles oral health coach. Your results will give you a complete picture of your overall oral health based on a variety of factors like your oral microbiome, clinical risk factors, and oral health behaviors that can put you at risk for oral disease. You’ll get scores for risks like cavities, gum disease, and bad breath along with steps to prevent them. And finally, you’ll get a complete understanding of your unique oral microbiome and the types of bacteria present. There are many ways to view the information depending how deep you want to dive, or if you just want surface level information to help you make smart changes and choices that will help you make steps towards healing. If you are a member of Carrie’s Oral Health Coaching program and membership you will have access to ongoing support as well! There are so many ways to incorporate this information!
Your Oral Health Coaching and At-Home Oral Test Plan
You can take Bristle Health tests at least 30 minutes after eating or drinking by simply producing a saliva sample in a small vial and shipping it with the included label. Bristle Health will test your sample at a CLIA-certified (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) lab and generate a HIPAA-compliant report with state-of-the-art encryption you can view through their app. You can typically expect results 2-3 weeks after shipping your sample. Once your results are avail you schedule a call with their team and go over your results and they can make suggestions on how to balance your bacteria and what ingredients to look for in your oral health care products. You can also share these results with Carrie Ibbetson RDH, your oral health coach, for support on your progress and recommendations for ongoing steps to heal your family’s oral health if you are in her program or part of her groups.
